Selected as a Supplier Engagement Leader, the Top Rank in the CDP Supplier Engagement Assessment for the Third Time in a Row

Jul 14, 2025

ESPEC CORP. (Head office: Kita-ku, Osaka City, Representative Director and President: Satoshi Arata) received the highest rating--an A score--at the FY 2024 Supplier Engagement Assessment conducted by the international NPO CDP* and was selected as a Supplier Engagement Leader for the third time in a row.

The CDP Supplier Engagement Assessment evaluate how companies effectively address the issue of climate change in cooperation with their suppliers.
ESPEC has established targets for reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 (SCOPE 1/2 and SCOPE 3), and is carrying out initiatives aimed at preventing global warming and preserving biodiversity. For reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, we have requested that our business partners reduce their SCOPE 1 and 2 emissions by 20% by FY 2025. Specific initiatives include the Suppliers' Environmental Contributions awards, which recognize suppliers that have reduced their greenhouse gas emissions and acquired SBT certification, and study workshops on decarbonization to promote joint efforts with suppliers.

In the CDP FY 2024 Climate Change Survey, we have been awarded a "B" rating--the third-highest of eight possible scores--for the fifth consecutive year since FY 2020, and in the area of water security, we earned a "B-"--the fourth-highest of eight possible scores. We will continue to strengthen our activities in unison with our suppliers and strive to disclose information proactively.
