Jan. 14, 2021

On Wednesday, January 13, one person at the ESPEC Kobe R&D Center was confirmed as having become infected with the novel coronavirus.
After a fever broke out on Saturday, January 9, the employee underwent a PCR test the following Monday, January 11, which came back positive on Tuesday, January 12. The employee is currently experiencing only mild symptoms but will be quarantined in a hotel for the foreseeable future.
The Public Health Center has confirmed that no one has come into close contact with the infected individual.
ESPEC has, following the instructions of the Public Health Center, thoroughly disinfected the business office in question. We will also, in cooperation with the Public Health Center with jurisdiction over the office, take appropriate measures to ensure safety, including conducting temperature checks and health observations of all staff at the sales office and their families.
We apologize for any concern that may have been caused to local residents and to everyone else involved.
ESPEC will also continue to take appropriate infection control measures based on the policies of the federal and local governments.
