[New Product] Expanded Environmental Stress Chamber AR Series Lineup To Meet Rapid Temperature Change Needs for Automotive/Electronics Testing

ESPEC CORP. (Head office: Kita-ku, Osaka, President and Representative Director: Masaaki Ishida) launched four new models for Environmental Stress Chamber AR Series Rapid-Rate Temperature Cycle Type in Aug. 2020. These new products bring the total number of AR Series models up to 32 (including standard type), allowing you to choose the size and performance best suited for your test applications.

AR Series Rapid-Rate Temperature Cycle Type provides the temperature cycling and humidity performance you need to validate quality and reliability for increasingly sophisticated automotive, electronics and other products. Since the first models launched in 2016, sales have grown steadily in Japan and Europe, mainly to automotive component manufacturers.

In addition to the 5K/min (680L and 1100L) models, the four newest AR Series chambers are capable of temperature changes of 10K/min (1100L) and 15K/min (680L) with or without humidity control. With support for both temperature and humidity cycle tests, all four new models comply with IEC international standards and German Automotive industry test standard LV 124. The chambers are also capable of precise control over a temperature range of -70°C to +180°C (with optional support for up to 200°C) and a humidity range of 10% to 98%RH. This means stable control is possible even for 95°C/98%RH and other high-temperature, high-humidity tests to meet the strict test requirements for electronic components requiring high reliability. The chambers also use low GWP (Global Warming Potential) refrigerants to meet the growing demand for green and sustainable products.

■New Product Features

  • 1. Compliant with IEC International Standards and German Automotive industry test standard
    LV 124; Capable of Temperature Cycle Testing at 10K/min and 15K/min

    The new chambers comply with IEC-standard thermal cycle tests (IEC 60068-2-14Nb) and temperature/humidity cycle tests (IEC 60068-2-30 and IEC 60068-2-38) as well as German Automotive industry test standard LV 124. Air temperature can be raised or lowered at a rate of 10°C per minute or 15°C per minute during testing between -40°C and +125°C.

  • 2. Wide Range of Temperatures and Humidity

    The chambers offer precise control over a wide range of temperatures (-70°C to +180°C, with optional support for +200°C) and humidity (10 to 98%RH). This means control is stable even at high temperatures and high humidity such as 95°C and 98%RH.

  • 3. Low GWP Refrigerants

    The R-449A refrigerant (with a GWP of 1397) used in the chambers has a 64% lower GWP than conventional R-404A refrigerant (with a GWP of 3920).

  • 4. Easy Specimen Accessibility

    Cable ports are included as standard on both sides.
    An optional door notch port is also available to put cables through the door for easy access to specimen.
