Regarding the Recent Novel Coronavirus Infection at an ESPEC Subsidiary

On Thursday, July 23, an employee at the principal office of ESPEC KYUSHU CORP. (Kitakyushu City), a subsidiary of ESPEC Corporation, was confirmed as having become infected with the novel coronavirus.
Following a fever on Friday, July 17, the employee was quarantining at home after falling ill. A PCR test was performed on Wednesday, July 22, and the results on the next day (July 23) came back positive. The employee is currently hospitalized.
The Public Health Center has confirmed that no one within the company has come into close contact with the infected individual.
We apologize for any concern that may have been caused to local residents and to everyone else involved.
ESPEC KYUSHU CORP. will be cooperating with the Public Health Center with jurisdiction to appropriately prevent further spread of infection. ESPEC will also continue to take appropriate infection control measures based on the policies of the federal and local governments.
