Antennas

For Customers Developing Antennas

For millimeter wavebands in 5th generation mobile communications systems (5G),
antennas and wireless send/receive modules have been integrated into a single unit to reduce transmission losses.
For this reason, performance evaluations, such as temperature dependency
and reliability evaluations must be performed wirelessly (OTA: Over the Air).
Protocol tests in a temperature environment must also be conducted on communications modules for antennas.
ESPEC provides optimal products for these evaluations.

Test Systems

Systems for OTA Tests/Wireless Tests in Temperature Environments

For 5G base stations, temperature dependency evaluations in OTA measurements are required because antennas and wireless send/receive modules have been integrated into a single unit to reduce transmission losses.
These systems are capable of conducting temperature tests while possessing the functionality of an RF anechoic chamber.

  • Systems for OTA Tests/Wireless Tests in Temperature Environments Constant Temperature RF Anechoic Chamber
    • It is possible to conduct wireless RF performance tests in a temperature environment.
    • Shielding performance → frequency range: 0.5 to 30 GHz, attenuation rate: 60 db or higher.
    • There is no negative impact on peripheral equipment because leaking of radio waves generated by the specimen is prevented.
    • The interior of the RF anechoic chamber can be precisely controlled from low temperature to high temperature.
    • Freezing is prevented by our proprietary insulation technology, which allows the operation of a turntable or positioner without operating restrictions even at low temperatures.
    Controlled temperature range -40 to +100 °C
Shielding performance Frequency range 0.5〜30 GHz *
Attenuation rate 60 db or higher*
    Interior dimensions(mm) W14000×H3000×D7000 *

    * Contact ESPEC for shielding performance and interior dimensions not listed above.

  • Systems for OTA Tests/Wireless Tests in Temperature Environments Shielded Box/RF Anechoic Box + Precision Air Supply System
    • It is possible to conduct wireless RF performance tests
      in a temperature environment.
    • Temperature-regulated air from the unit-type temperature supply system is supplied to the RF anechoic box through
      a duct.
    • A box that allows radio wave transmissions is used to keep
the temperature environment of the specimen constant.
    • You can connect this system to an RF anechoic box/shielded box that you already own.
      * Contact ESPEC in advance to determine if the system can be connected.
    Controlled temperature range -40 to +100 °C
Shielding performance Frequency range 77 GHz
    Attenuation rate 50 db
    Interior dimensions(mm) W1200×H1200×D12000
(The interior dimensions can be changed.)
  • Temperature Environment Wireless Protocol Test System - RF Anechoic Box-Type Low Temperature Chamber
    • Capable of wireless protocol tests in a temperature environment.
    • Ensures an attenuation rate of 60 dB or greater in 4.0 to
      6.0 GHz frequency bands.
    • The interior of the RF anechoic box can be precisely controlled from low temperature to high temperature.
    • Smaller installation area than an RF anechoic chamber to facilitate testing of small communications modules.
