Snow

Create snow conditions found in Sapporo, Japan; Chamonix, France; or anywhere in the world without you going there.

In snowy environments, sensors can become covered with snow, resulting in various product failures such as false detections.
The snow module reproduces the snow accumulations found in the real world. You can use it to evalute vehicles, construction materials, antennas, surveillance cameras, etc., how they perform in the snow. In combination with the airstream module, you can perform a snow adhesion test as well.

POINT 01Accumulated snow conditions can be created

When snow accumulates on sensors while driving, they do not perform as expected.
The snow generator module can be used to evaluate sensing under accumulated snow, as well as poor visibility and melting snow due to snow accumulated on headlights.

POINT 02Snowing conditions can be created

We can create two different types of snow with a water content of 10% or 25%.
Doing so is useful for evaluating sensor recognition failure, such as when the lines on roads are covered by accumulated snow.

POINT 03Dynamic environments can be created

In actual environments, snow does not continue to fall at a constant rate.
Rather, it changes from moment to moment.
In the All Weather Simulation Chamber, dynamic environments (weather environments that are constantly changing) that change from rain to sleet and snow can be created for evaluation.
This makes it possible to evaluate snow and ice that accumulates on sensors, wipers, headlights, etc.

Specification(Snowfall test)

Item Specifications
Precipitation 20mm/h
Snowfall area Approx. 4m2(W2×D2m)
Liquid water content(LWC) 10%, 25% (set in two levels, snowfall test only))
Remarks Test area temperature range: -30℃~+5℃
*At temperatures of -20℃ and higher, the snow may take on a texture like sherbet.
