Estimation method for temperature uncertainty of temperature chambers (JTM K 08) |
|
Abstract
In July 2007, The Japan Testing Machinery Association (JTM) issued a new standard for evaluating temperature uncertainty for temperatures implemented in temperature test chambers, JTM K 08 "Estimation method for temperature uncertainty of temperature chambers" (below K 08). This standard considers uncertainty based on JTM K 07 "Temperature chambers - Test and indication method for performance" (below K 07) issued in March 2007. This article will provide a commentary on understanding and calculating temperature uncertainty according to JTM K 08, as well as mentioning points of debate and points in which unification of standards has not been possible. |

New JTM standards for temperature test chambers
- Methods of testing and indicating performance |
|
Abstract
Japan Testing Machinery Association (JTM) has issued a new standard for environmental test chambers called JTM K 07, "Temperature chambers-Test and indication method for performance". This standard conforms to standards established by IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) and JIS (the Japanese Standards Association), and has major changes from previous methods of testing and indicating performance for environmental test equipment. As a result, we would like to present the background leading to the establishment of this standard as well as its principal contents. In addition, we would like to discuss the coming trends in methods of testing and indicating performance for temperature and humidity test chambers. |

Fundamentals of Environmental Testing Standards |
|
Abstract
Certification systems are a current hot topic within the field of quality control, and
such systems are increasingly being discussed within the context of standards. To
keep readers up-to-date in this area, we are presenting an overview of the fundamentals
of standards for environmental testing, an area that is central to quality control activity
in the field of electricity and electronics. |

Trends in IEC environmental testing standards for LCD |
|
Abstract
International standards contained in IEC publication 61747-5 (Environmental,
endurance and mechanical test methods) for use in environmental testing of Liquid
Crystal Displays (LCD) have now been published. These standards were deliberated and
enacted by international committee IEC TC47/SC47C/WG2 based on a Japanese
proposal. These new standards integrate standards for mechanical environmental testing
such as shock and vibration tests, atmospheric environmental testing such as temperature
and humidity tests, and these standards have been combined with pre-existing visual
inspection standards.
This report will discuss the background, details and contents of these newly-enacted
standards, focusing on atmospheric environmental testing in particular. |

Explanation of International Standard IEC 68-2-66 |
|
Abstract
The Japanese Industrial Standard, JIS, conforms to the ISO and the IEC. This
standard is soon to be adopted by JIS, and it is expected to be put to practical application
in business contracts as one method of environmental testing in such areas as electrical
and electronics parts and products. |
